The space: Unit One at The Swell
A sunny two-bedroom with a spa bathroom and the hot tub right outside.
Unit One is a bright, single-level two-bedroom on the first floor of The Swell, our boutique surf lodge in downtown Oceanside, on the same level as the shared patio. It sleeps five, with two queen bedrooms and a memory foam sofa bed in the living room, so it works for couples, friends and families.
The living room has ocean views, a smart TV and 1,000 Mbps Wi-Fi. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a gas range, a large sink and plenty of counter and pantry space, and the built-in dining nook seats the whole group. The bathroom is the showpiece, with a glass-enclosed shower and a freestanding soaking tub against a wood slat wall.
Step outside and the shared hot tub, fire table and grill are right there. The beach and pier are about a 15 to 20 minute walk, and the coffee shops and restaurants on Mission Avenue are two blocks away.

- Up to 5 overnight guests, listed at the time of booking. Daytime visitors need to be approved by us first.

- 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No parties or events, and please keep noise respectful of the other guests and neighbors.
- Smoking
- No smoking anywhere on the property, including the patio and outdoor areas.
- Pets
- Not allowed. Bringing a pet without approval comes with a $500 fine. Service animals are welcome.
- Booking guest
- The primary guest must be 25 or older and stay for the whole reservation. No third-party bookings, so please do not book on behalf of someone else. We may ask for a valid ID.
- Parking
- Two spots in our private, off-street guest lot are included.
- Cameras
- There are exterior security cameras covering the parking lot, the top of the stairs, the side alley and the front gate.
- Cancellation
- Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in. 50% refund if you cancel 14 to 30 days before check-in. No refund within 14 days of check-in. The 3% card processing fee is not refundable.

The Swell sits on a quiet street in downtown Oceanside, two blocks from the coffee shops and restaurants on Mission Avenue. The pier and The Strand are about a 15 to 20 minute walk, so the car can stay in the lot more often than not.

What is the minimum stay at Unit One?
Unit One has a 2-night minimum, so it works for beach weekends, vacations and longer trips.
What are the check-in and checkout times?
Check-in is after 4:00 PM with a smart lock, so you can let yourself in. Checkout is before 11:00 AM.
How many people does Unit One sleep?
Up to 5 guests. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and a memory foam sofa bed in the living room.
Is there parking?
Yes. Two spots in our private, off-street guest lot are included with your stay.
Is the hot tub private?
The hot tub, fire table and grill are on a patio shared with the guests in the other units at The Swell. The hot tub is open all year.

Does Unit One have air conditioning?
Yes. A mini split heats and cools the main living area, and the bedrooms have portable fans.
Can I work from Unit One?
Yes. There is 1,000 Mbps Wi-Fi and a workspace. If you need a full desk for a longer stay, Units Two and Three are set up for that.
