The Airstream gives your group a second place to settle in. It has a private queen bedroom with blackout blinds, an L-shaped couch that converts to a full sofa bed, a full bathroom, a stocked kitchen, a desk, heat and air conditioning, Starlink Wi-Fi and a Smart TV. You can see the lake from the living room.
Parachute linens, spa robes, plush towels and a Pack 'n Play bring the same comfort you will find in the cabin.

The only mountaintop pickleball ranch in Southern California: a full regulation-size private court with mountain views on all sides. Paddles and balls are provided for the whole group. In winter, snow can cover the court for a day or two, and we do not shovel it so the surface stays in good shape.

Soak above the clouds
Sink into the cedar hot tub after a match or a hike, then unwind on the deck with the propane grill and sweeping mountain and lake views. On a clear day guests have spotted San Diego and even Catalina Island.

Up to 2 house-trained dogs are welcome for a $150 pet fee per stay. For families, we provide 2 pack 'n plays (plus one in the Airstream), 2 high chairs, baby gates and blackout curtains.
The property sits on 2 remote mountain acres and is not gated or fenced. It is truly off the beaten path, which is exactly the point. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including rattlesnakes, and supervise kids and dogs outdoors.

House rules & policies
Wild Moon Ranch is a quiet, private mountaintop. These rules keep it that way for every guest, and keep the mountain safe.
Guests
- Up to 12 overnight guests, listed at the time of booking: 9 in the cabin and 3 in the Airstream.
- Visitors must be approved by us in advance.
- No more than 17 people on the property at any time.
Fire safety
- No smoking of any kind, anywhere on the property.
- No flames outdoors: no fire pits, candles, sparklers or cigarettes on the decks, the court or around Restore Outpost.
- Candles are allowed indoors only.
- This mountain has extreme wildfire risk, and a home on this property has burned before.
Noise & events
- A relaxing getaway, not a party house. Parties are not allowed.
- No noise that can be heard more than 50 feet beyond the property line.
- Excessive noise, illegal activity or other rule violations may end your stay early with no refund, and extra charges may apply.
Dogs
- Up to 2 house-trained dogs, with a $150 non-refundable pet fee.
- The property is not fenced, so please supervise dogs outdoors and watch for wildlife.
- Please pick up after your dog.
Who can book
- The primary guest must be at least 25 and stay for the whole reservation.
- No third-party bookings, such as a parent booking for a child or someone booking for another group.
- Valid ID may be requested. Bookings that break this policy may be canceled without a refund.
Cancellation
- Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
- 50% refund if you cancel 14 to 30 days before check-in.
- No refund within 14 days of check-in.

What is the difference between the two booking options?
The whole property is Wild Moon Ranch plus Restore Outpost: the 3-bedroom cabin, the Airstream, the sauna, cold plunge, outdoor shower, yoga deck, pickleball court, cedar hot tub and game room. It sleeps 12. The cabin-only option is Wild Moon Ranch on its own with the pickleball court, cedar hot tub and game room, and sleeps 9. It does not include the Airstream or any of the Restore Outpost wellness amenities.
Can I book Restore Outpost on its own?
No. Restore Outpost is only available when you book the whole property. That also means you will never share the property with another group, whichever option you choose.
How many guests can stay?
Up to 12 overnight guests with the whole property: 9 in the cabin (king, queen, full, twin and a queen sofa bed) and 3 in the Airstream (a private queen bedroom and a full sofa bed). The cabin-only option sleeps 9. Daytime visitors must be approved in advance, with no more than 17 people on the property at any time.
Is there a sauna and cold plunge?
Yes. With the whole property you get a private traditional sauna with mountain views, a barrel cold plunge and an outdoor shower, all a few steps apart at Restore Outpost. They are for your group only.
Is this a good place for a yoga or wellness retreat?
Yes. Restore Outpost has a spacious deck with Lake Cuyamaca views and 12 yoga mats provided, plus the sauna and cold plunge for contrast therapy. With room for 12 guests, it works well for small-group yoga retreats, wellness weekends and team offsites near San Diego. Is there really a private pickleball court?

How far is it from San Diego and Julian?
About an hour from San Diego, about 20 minutes from downtown Julian, 5 minutes from Lake Cuyamaca and roughly 3 hours from Los Angeles. You will need a car, and the final approach is a winding mountain road.
Are campfires or fire pits allowed?
No. Candles are welcome indoors only. Due to extreme wildfire risk, there is absolutely no smoking, sparks or flames of any kind outdoors, including candles, fire pits, sparklers and cigarettes.
What is the cancellation policy?
Moderate: a full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in, a 50% refund if you cancel 14 to 30 days before, and no refund within 14 days of check-in. The 3% card processing fee is non-refundable.
Who can book?
The primary guest must be at least 25 years old and present for the entire stay. Third-party bookings are not permitted, so reservations cannot be made on behalf of someone else. Parties are not allowed.
