The house: a historic home near Balboa Park
A 1911 Craftsman with room for everyone, a six minute walk from Balboa Park.
Palm Parkside is a two-story Craftsman home between North Park and South Park, two of San Diego's best walking neighborhoods. It has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 3 kitchens across 3,173 square feet, and it sleeps up to 15, so it works for family reunions, wedding weekends, friend trips and birthdays. It is one of our favorite places for a big family in town for a San Diego wedding.
The original details are still here: stained glass windows, rich wood floors, built-ins and coffered ceilings, mixed with a mid-century modern look. Cook a full dinner in the main eat-in kitchen, spread out between the two living rooms, spin a record, or head out back to the hot tub, the fire table and the garage game room.
Balboa Park is 0.3 miles away. The restaurants and coffee shops of North Park and South Park are a short walk, and the San Diego Zoo is a 6 minute drive.
