Your own pickleball court, 5,400 feet up
The court is full regulation size, fenced, and set on the mountaintop with views across the Cuyamaca range. Paddles and balls are provided for the whole group, so you just show up and play. Morning games are cool and clear. At golden hour, the whole court glows.
It's private, so there's no sign-up sheet, no waiting for a court, and no one else on it but your group.
Then recover: sauna, shower, cold plunge
After a few games, head down to Restore Outpost. The wood barrel sauna has glass doors facing the mountains. Ladle water over the stones and watch the sun set from the bench. The outdoor shower sits right beside it, and the lit cedar cold plunge is a few steps away.
Hot, cold, repeat, all in a private corner of the mountain that belongs only to your group.

Up at the cabin, the cedar hot tub looks out over the mountains and the clouds below. On a clear day, guests have spotted San Diego and even Catalina Island. After dark, Julian's certified dark skies take over, so plan at least one night of stargazing from the tub.

The Airstream opens onto a spacious deck with a clear view of Lake Cuyamaca. We keep 12 yoga mats there for guests. Flow at sunrise, stretch after a morning on the court, or sit with a coffee and watch the light move across the valley.

Room for 12: the cabin and the Airstream
The 3-bedroom cabin sleeps 9, with a king, a queen, a full and a twin bed, plus a queen sofa bed in the game room. It has a wood-burning fireplace, a chef's kitchen, an espresso bar, and a basement with shuffleboard, air hockey, ping pong and a 12-flavor popcorn bar.
The Airstream sleeps 3, with a private queen bedroom with blackout blinds and a full sofa bed. It has its own bathroom, kitchen, desk, heat and air conditioning, Starlink Wi-Fi and a lake view from the living room.
Together that's about 1,500 square feet of living space for up to 12 guests.
Who it's for
Pickleball weekends. An easy drive from San Diego, Orange County or LA. Play all day, then recover in the sauna and plunge.
Wellness and yoga retreats. A small-group retreat space near San Diego with a yoga deck, mats, sauna and cold plunge.
Girls' trips and birthdays. Games on the court, sauna sessions and sunset soaks in the cedar hot tub.
Family reunions. The cabin and the Airstream mean everyone gets their own space. Pack 'n plays and high chairs are included.
Team offsites. Starlink Wi-Fi and a desk for the mornings, the mountain for the afternoons.
Two ways to book
You can book the whole property: Wild Moon Ranch plus Restore Outpost, sleeping 12. Or you can book just the cabin, with the pickleball court, cedar hot tub and game room, sleeping 9. Restore Outpost is never rented on its own, so either way you'll never share the mountain with another group.
Getting there
Wild Moon Ranch sits on 2 secluded acres at the top of the Cuyamaca range. It's ~1 hour from San Diego, ~3 hours from Los Angeles, ~20 minutes from downtown Julian and 5 minutes from Lake Cuyamaca. Dogs are welcome, up to 2 per stay. Read more in our guide to stargazing near San Diego.
