The house
A private Pacific Beach vacation rental near the bay and ocean
Velvet Surf is a bright three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath townhome that sleeps eight on a quiet residential street in Pacific Beach. Sail Bay is about a 15-minute walk away, while the beach and boardwalk are about 20 minutes from the house.
Upstairs, the open living, dining and kitchen area leads to a large private balcony with a fire table, propane grill and outdoor seating. The primary suite is on the same floor and has a king bed, vaulted ceilings, a private balcony and an ensuite bathroom.
Downstairs, there is a second king bedroom, a bunk room with four twin beds and another full bathroom. The garage includes a washer and dryer, beach chairs, towels, a wagon and other beach gear.
Velvet Surf welcomes up to two dogs and has a fenced side yard with turf. Families with small children will also find two Pack ’n Plays, a high chair, stroller, permanent baby gate, blackout curtains and beach toys.

“Even more spectacular in person”
Aubrey’s place was captured well in the pictures but even more spectacular in person. All the amenities you could hope for, it was very well decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. So much attention to detail on the comfort of the stay, like magnets and Velcro to fasten the curtains and block out the sun. Just a very well thought out experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

What a great stay! The home actually feels like a beautifully designed home. It was so peaceful and the decor was amazing! We loved the wallpapers on the walls in the bedrooms! Beautiful, unique space in PB! The home was super clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Despite having a full house, it felt spacious and we all enjoyed hanging out in the living room and outdoor balcony. The beach and restaurant scene is only a mile away, so made a great spot to explore the neighborhood. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing location and space.
First off, most comfortable beds ever. The fans in each room were so helpful and the bunk beds were a hit with our kids. We loved the location and found that five days was not nearly long enough to try all the restaurants around. Communication with Aubrey was so easy and the house was so clean upon arrival. We spent every single night by the fire pit and the outdoor vibes were immaculate! A truly great stay.
My group of 7 loved staying at this PB townhouse for our weekend stay in San Diego. The hosts were very responsive and provided really clear communications prior to and during the stay. It was walkable to grocery stores and restaurants, and offered a lot of amenities such as beach umbrellas, chairs, towels, extra fans, and a fully stocked kitchen. Sometimes you check into an Airbnb and don’t have anything you need to make a meal, and that was not the case with this home. The outdoor balcony was also a great space to spend the evening. Everything was kept very clean, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again for my next visit to San Diego!
My friends and I loved staying at this airbnb. We stayed here for a weekend during spring break and it is an amazing area to stay. There is always something to do 5 min away: beach, bars, shopping, lunch, coffee, dinner, etc. Home was cute, clean, and easy check-in and check-out. Definitely would stay here again :)
Aubrey was incredibly quick to respond! Faster than anyone else I've ever experienced with vacation rentals. It was nice that she checked in to see how the experience was so far and if there was anything we needed.
Quiet street for a bustling coastal area of San Diego. It was close to cafes, restaurants, ice cream, tacos and of course the beautiful beaches.
Aubrey gave some recommendations on where to rent cruisers and where to get excellent ice cream that was open late. Baked Bear was so worth it!!
Having a washer/dryer in the rental is like gold for a family with kids. Loved that there was a garage where we could store our rented bikes. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and even SUP and surfboards were available for us to use! Love the decor and immediately felt at home there. Sitting on the back patio in the morning sun was really nice.

Such a Great place! So clean and we'll dusted, with updated amenities. The place looks exactly like the photos in the listing. We loved the outdoor patio, and enjoyed many home cooked meals out there. Everything had easy to follow instructions and is well ventilated with AC and ceiling fans.
The neighborhood was very safe and walkable and easy to navigate.
Aubrey was very kind and attentive, and even checked in during our trip to make sure everything was going well.
If you’re in the PB area, this is THE PLACE you want to stay at. I took a few days to myself to escape and relax, and Aubrey’s place has it all. It’s well kept, up to date, maintained just like the pictures.

Amazing and responsive host, Aubrey has an amazing pristine home and she is the perfect option for someone staying with a child or pet. Love this property so very much in central PB easy access to everything, super clean, spacious, and again a fantastic host makes it all the better!
Aubrey was so accommodating and had everything laid out and clear for us before and during our stay. She would check in with us and answer any questions in less than 10 minutes! The house was so cute and well decorated. Our group couldn’t stop gushing about how aesthetic the place was. It was cleanly and quiet with plenty of space for our group to sit and chat. The area was super walkable and we were able to stroll around to super busy parts of Pacific Beach without worrying about parking. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to spend a wholesome weekend in San Diego!

My family and I really enjoyed our short stay at Aubrey's. Her home is beautiful and everything was just as described. The place was clean and beds were super comfortable. There was ample space for our group of 5. We were in heaven with our perfect americanos using the breville coffee machine. The check in process was smooth and Aubrey was able to accommodate a late check out. She provided clear instructions and was available if needed. Overall, the booking was perfect and I would recommend to everyone!
Our stay was wonderful! Having the beach and equipment for children was a game changer especially if not traveling with any of those items. It was such a peaceful place that made us feel right at home with everything we needed. We enjoyed the style and of course the cool black & green bathroom 😄 would definitely recommend and will keep an eye out on Aubrey’s other listings.
We had a great stay! Super easy check-in and communication was clear throughout. The home was plenty spacious for our family of four and the outdoor space was a nice bonus. There are quite a few bars and restaurants within walking distance which is nice. Would recommend!
The unit is exactly as described and located in a convenient to walk part of Pacific Beach.
The kitchen and grill are both clean and easily usable, and the patio includes a fire pit which is excellent for using when it's slightly cold outside.
Aubrey is also extremely responsive to requests for additional toiletries when required.

Absolutely loved staying here!! The interior was beautiful, lots of sheepskins, beautiful linen curtains, and super comfy beds with fresh white bedding that felt like an expensive hotel😍
We loved bbq on the balcony and having the firepit for night time. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning on the balcony in the morning sun. One of the best things about this place is the espresso machine!! They have a breville which iykyk🤌🏼

Sail Bay is about a 15-minute walk from the house, and the Pacific Beach boardwalk and ocean are about 20 minutes away. Mission Bay, Belmont Park, La Jolla, Ocean Beach and many of San Diego’s most popular coastal neighborhoods are also an easy drive.

- Dogs only, up to two. A $150 non-refundable pet fee applies. Please clean up after your dog.
- No smoking anywhere on the property, including all outdoor areas. There is a $500 fine for any evidence of smoking.
- The maximum for overnight guests is 8, and the number must be listed when you book. Extra visitors must be approved by the host in advance, and there can never be more than 10 people at the property.
- This home is for a relaxing getaway, not parties. Keep music and noise at a level that is mindful of neighbors; noise that can be heard 50 feet from the home is not allowed. Guests may be asked to leave without a refund for excessive noise, parties or any illegal activity.
- The primary guest must be at least 25 years old and must be present for the whole stay. Third party bookings, such as a parent booking for a child, are not permitted, and valid ID may be requested.
Payment
- Booking within 45 days of check in: 100% is due at booking.
- Booking more than 45 days before check in: 50% is due at booking, and the remaining 50% is due 45 days before check in.
- We accept all credit cards on our secure booking platform, powered by Stripe.
Cancellation policy
